Biography

In 2015 Andrea Spontoni gets a bachelor’degree in Musicology at the University Of Pavia, with a thesis about the role of Norwegian Black Metal in defining the genre during the 90s.
In the same year, he starts studying “New Technologies And Multimedia” at Conservatory “F. A. Bonporti” (Trento, Italy).

In Trento he’s attended Master Classes with composers like James O’Callaghan and Paolo Perezzani.
He also partecipated to seminars with Andrea Mattevi, Alessandro Solbiati, Antonio Camurri, Emanuele Dalmaso, Fabio Cifariello Ciardi, Francisco Josè Martin Quintero, Marco Longo, Matteo Franceschini.

In 2017 he writes music for “Village Of Evil”, a videogame illustrated by Gavyn Dylan aka Blackinvoid. The game is planned to be released on the next Halloween.

In september 2017 he partecipated to the 14th International Music Theory and Analysis Conference, organized by the Italian research association Gruppo di Analisi e Teoria Musicale (GATM), to present an analysis of Rebonds by Iannis Xenakis in cooperation with his study partner Livia Maria Marzolla.

In 2018 he graduated in “New Technologies And Multimedia” at Conservatory “F. A. Bonporti” of Trento. In his academic training he studied composition, sound design, and Max/MSP programming with Mauro Graziani and Fabio Cifariello Ciardi.

In summer 2018 he is admitted to the “International Laboratory of Film Music” at “Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia” in Rome, where he studies with Andrea Grant, Andrea Guerra, Angelo Maria Farro, Cristiano Travaglioli, Carlo Crivelli, Daniele Luchetti, Dario Calvari, Federico Savina, Franco Fraccastoro, Giancarlo Russo, Giovanni Guardi, Kristian Sensini, Nicola Piovani, Pasquale Catalano, Pivio, Paolo Buonvino, Sergio Bassetti.
During this Lab he’s chosen to write the music for the short movie “Il Bosco” by Stefano Clari.

In august 2018 he pubblishes “The 8th Bit Of The Shark”, the first album for his 8-bit patchanka project Cowboy Bitpop.

In december 2018 he starts to work as assistant at the composer Maurizion D’Aniello, for the installation AQUA – Da Vinci’s Water Vision.
In the same period he also writes the music for the Short Movie “Night Queen” by Evita Stanzione.

After AQUA, he continues to work in Milan with D’Aniello and his collective “Evoke The Spectrum”. Here, he works with clients like Google, Spotify and Leonardo S.P.A.

In july 2019 he attend the course in “Music Composition for videogame”, at the Hollywood Music Workshop of Baden Bei Wien.

Later on, he is selected to attend the Workshop in Sound Design For Theater at LaBiennale College, the summer school related to La Biennale of Venice. Here, he studied with the sound designer Franco Visioli.
